Dear Ms. Milbrodt,
I don't know what made you keep this wonderful story(sic) with TQR for a year of no response, but I'm exceedingly lucky I guess, and thrilled to the bone that you did. The last few pages really bring it all home. It's subtle power puts me in the mind of Raymond Carver's Cathedral. I really would love to publish it.

Dear TQR,
Thank you for the Carver comparison, and the story is yours to publish if you'd like. I assume from the reference to "weasel words" on your web page that you've read David Michael Kaplan's "Revising Your Prose for Power and Punch"?
All best, Teresa

No I haven't. Maybe Rockefeller did? I am so happy to have it. I'll go through it again to firm it up, perhaps get rid of a few of those varmints of which you and Rockefeller speak and then we'll go from there.

Sounds good, thank you. Please let me know if you need any additional info from me, and if you have a contract for review.
All best,
Teresa

We did a contract years ago, but that kind of fell by the wayside. I put Basement Dogs on the site for perpetuity in exchange for 50 bucks. Of course, in perpetuity is only at your discretion. In other words, you want it taken down for any reason after it's been up for a year or two (no more) and I will oblige. Is that something you can live with? I'll need a mailing address by the way so I can mail you your remuneration. Sometimes I do a thing called Insider Trading where I interview a particular character from the piece (which you must channel) as a side bar. It's been a while since I did that so maybe that will be something we can do as well. It's actually really fun. Talk to you soon.
Also, a short bio and a raison de etre of Basement Dogs...in other words, what inspired you to write it, how'd it come to be?
