Dear Theodore:
I hope you’ve been able to tame your crush of waiting submissions. As you requested, I’m resubmitting here my 5,000 word venture, “Encore.”
Some years ago, on a sunny Saturday afternoon in our little California town, my wife and I heard the beat of well-played rock music echoing from the tiny public amphitheater. We joined an audience of about two dozen and listened to a few classic numbers before the band’s drummer paused to tell a brief story. Thirty-five years before, his band had a national hit with an original song that’s still well-remembered. But the band, “Cannibal and the Headhunters,” never recorded again for reasons he didn’t explain.
That story stuck with me. After a few of my ventures were published, I thought it was time to play with the concept in a capital venture of my own.
Thanks for reading.

How'd this cover letter pass the new pre-floor guidelines? My Inbox is pretty full.

It wasn't bad. Gave an interesting anecdote about a rock show he'd seen some years ago and how it was the inspiration for the current cap. To tell you the truth, I would have grandfathered it in regardless since I told him to resend it later, which was before the new guideline was decreed. I'll let him know it's still going to be a while and, also, I'm working on getting you another partner down there on the floor. Don't feel like you have to rush.

Your cap is on the floor, but it's still going to take a while. We're still down a floorite, which means rockefeller is toiling through the slush pile alone. Tis a lonely and thankless endeavor, you know.
