Oh hey, sending twice cuz I meant to say "Hello." I hope you had a good Canada Day weekend in Trudeau's Nouveau China. We went to a 4th of July cookout and ate some brats and drank some beers. Had a cigarette for the heck of it, too.

Hey, good times. Good C-day, with very few flags seen though. I think we're becoming everr more disillusioned w/ the gov. Read that "vaccine compliance" will now require a jab every nine months here. Guess we gave them too much rope.
I'm way busier since retiring from my software "job." Having become addicted to online chess isn't (and electric guitar) ain't helping. I'll try to get to this cap, but it's getting harder to find the time and motivation.

You would hope the rope might be used for hanging them, but then that would mean a justice system that actually held elites accountable as plebs. Any way I can make the incentive to continue this TQR stunt into the future? You've been the rock down there since Dommey cut out. Anyhow. We'll muddle through until we don't. That's life. Got a new book about to drop about a teenager in the time of Covid.I'll shoot you a copy when I publish it. Read Catcher in the Rye for research on tone and all that since I wrote it 1st person this time, changing up from my usual 3rd limited or whatever my style usually is. Not sure. Could be omniscient for all I know. I really loved the haunted White House Harry Truman story. Would love to publish it, too. Let me know what you think.

The only fiction reading I do anymore (except TQR) is the horizontal, unconsciousness inducing sort. About ready to bail on Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49. Guy writes a little like Yoda talks. I still read the subs here when I get a chance. Worked on a SF novel for 4 years, finished it, and now see it as a major waste of time, which has put me off writing. The only writing I do anymore is for TQR as well. Hopefully subs won't overwhelm, or I may have to go into Doomey mode. That Truman thing is probably too long and slow for most venues. But I really appreciated your feedback on it. Also really enjoy your blogs, how you tell it like it is.

I think your taste in literature runs a bit more literary than mine. Wallace is about as far as I get. But I'll check out GR if I get a chance. You're welcome to Nothing to Be Afraid Of. If you really want it. You don't owe me anything. We do this for giggles and love.

Gotta read GRAVITY'S RAINBOW before you die. I've read it several times. The section about Hitler's film makers, forget her name, [Lenny Reiffenstall?] is one of the best things ever written Anyhow. Can I publish the Truman deal? It's been a while since we've published a new one and I'm willing to forgo the process. It's one of those special dispensations like I did for Tom Sheehan. 50 bucks may fill your car with gas as long as it's a honda civic.
[Rockefeller's post above ending with "giggles and love" came after Rorschalk's above reply and before the text below]
That's very generous of you. Thanks. Do you have a graphic in mind we could use for it? I usually just kind of channel some odd detail from the work, type it in to the interzones search and find an image. But if you have anything specific in mind, let me know. And please send me a copy of NTBAO then! Yahoo! I'll send you a copy of GR as payment

I have no specific graphic in mind. There are probably lots of images of the Enola Gay, or a-bombs detonating, or Truman, or radiation injuries from Hiorshima/Nagasaki, or even the Apple logo (if legally permitted).
Margaret knows it's mine, so probably wouldn't vet honestly. Rocks'd nix it of course. Seems like it ought to at least get past Dep and/or G on the floor, and Charlie-fish (one of my fave editors, called my old Literary Mary short, subbed to his e-zine, the best sub he'd read in his 30 years of publishing). Or not. Weird. Thought I was totally over this creative writing thing. But your interest in posting NTBAO (obviously) has me a little stoked. Guess I'm not as cured as I'd imagined.

No brother, I'm kicking myself for not publishing it right away. I was all caught up in the ethics of it way back when when you first showed it to me, but now I see it as a Mel Brooks "It's good to be king (or the CEO and autocratic leader)" type of deal.

Who is this Charlie-fish character you speak of? I am Wally Sturgeon. I deny everything.

Sorry, Mr. Sturgeon. I'm always a tad aghast when I see personal email correspondence pasted here. I think I confused you with the editor of the longest running webzine on the internet. A guy who has, for several decades now, read, edited and published from a daily slush pile of submissions.
