Ted Rorschalk, Capital Manager/Dictator/? TQR:Total Quality Reading
Dear Imperious Leader:
I have taken the opportunity of sending my venture, “Dewey Hits the Lottery.” Lonnie Hazel, the conman, has just gotten back into Mountain Gulch and urges Dewey to invest his lottery winnings in Hazel's food truck, except Hazel and his “cretinous midget,” Hebro, is selling more than food. Dewey tells Hazel's old nemesis, Phil Harte, that Hazel's in town and the two contrive a plot to steal Hazel's ill-gotten money, but it's Hazel that ends up with the lucre.
It runs approximately 8,900 words for this single submission.
I am a published writer. Most recently my work has appeared in several iterations of Conceit, thrice in Tuck Magazine, in CounterPunch, Clever and forthcoming in Euphemism. My venture, “Under the Weather,” was selected for inclusion in 2016 Best New Writing.
Please be informed that because of an unfixable bug in the Open Office program, (according to my computer expert), there may be a gap in text between pages two and three.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
johnVC

Dear Mr. VC,
Thank you for another submission. I have sent it to Guevara. He's currently off on some far flung coup or some such Marxist adventure, so it could be a while before adjudication...again. Of course, he might just get himself killed this time, in which case we could be here til kingdom come... Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck.
