Dear Imperious Leader:
I have taken the opportunity of sending my venture, “Mr. Blythe and His Cinderella.” Mr. Blythe, the philistine restaurant owner, is attracted to his waitress, Cindy, and this lust proves destructive; Mr. Blythe is extorted for $500, loses his wife, who cleans out the house of furniture, and his business is failing. But Mr. Blythe is unfazed; he declares he will move into the apartment above the restaurant, where he has installed the waitress, and live with his Cinderella.
My venture runs 8,500 words for this single submission.
I am a published writer. My work has appeared in several iterations of Conceit, thrice in Tuck Magazine, in CounterPunch, Clever Magazine and most recently in Euphemism. My venture, “Under the Weather,” was selected for inclusion in 2016 Best New Writing.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, johnVC
