Dear Floor, Terminal and hopefully Autocrat. My name is johnVC, I'm a twenty-two-year-old neurodiverse dyslexic studying at UCD in Dublin, Ireland. I have been previously published in the journal "The New Word Order."
For the past year, I have studied Hegemons, its effect on non-hegemonic people, postcolonialism and masculinities. These heavy concepts are woven into this story and expressed in a way only sci-fi can achieve, hopefully giving the reader a better empathetic understanding of the effect these large forces excerpt on the individual.

Dear Mr. VC,
Autocrat here. One of the dangers of writing too much in an introduction letter is committing a typo so egregious that it disqualifies the submission on the spot. Thus, I am rejecting this submission because of the use of "excerpt" for what should have been "exert" in the final sentence of your introduction. We receive many submissions with nothing but title, word count and the VC's name and all go on to be read on the Floor. In other words, never give a gatekeeper an excuse to shoot you down.

Dear Autocrat, I apologise if my dyslexia has offended you. You seem a rather forgiving and empathetic person, so you can appreciate how minor slip-ups like those can be overlooked on my part. Nevertheless, I appreciate you giving my work a fair shake. I'll take your advice and excerpt more careful judgment in the future when submitting to Journals.
Yours egregiously, johnVC
