Dear Mr Rorschalk,
Please find attached for your consideration my new story entitled “An Act of Sorrow”. It’s 8,136 words long and is a speculative tale about grief, loss, the restless dead, and the burden of memory.
My full publication history can be found at www.jamescooperfiction.co.uk. I’ve previously published three collections of short stories, two novellas (both with PS Publishing, one of which, Terra Damnata, was shortlisted for the British Fantasy Award in 2012), and a novel, Dark Father, with DarkFuse. I’ve also written over fifty short stories, many of which have been published in magazines/venues such as TQR, Cemetery Dance, Black Static, and Postscripts. Upcoming publications for 2022 include a novel and a novella from Cemetery Dance and a major project with PS Publishing.
