Bonjour, John VC: Merci beaucoup for allowing us the pleasure of reviewing your murderous tale, Pillow Talk, for consideration here at TQR.
There is a quality, a certain odd and appealing sparsity to the plot as it unfolds, that leaves me simultaneously intrigued and unmoved. You wield the style of someone of no nonsense or unnecessary frill which, in my opinion, is both admirable and bold.
It's also walking (or writing in this case) a fine line, for you leave open always the possibility of your reader bereft of all but the most sketchy of insights into the characters propelling the plot forward. On sociopathic tendencies I can claim zero expertise but on story, Monsieur, well.
In Pillow Talk, you demonstrate your skill as a coherent and organized scribbler. It is only my subjective opinion so ponder or simply toss it away, but my advice is to feed your characters a bit of nourishment so they have a chance of presenting with slightly more impact than mere skeletal sketches. A hint of backstory. A touch of contradiction.
An unblinking willingness to kill is not enough, dear tale spinner, even in the presence of relentlessly hot and insatiable sexual hunger.
Thank you for your submission. The Monkey says not this time, Pillow Talk is not yet ready for publication among the stained pages of TQR.
Meilleurs sentiments,
G. DePlancher The Floor www.tqrstories.com
