Is Rock Star a reprint? I found a link to a story titled Deadline in Aphotic Realm, and Rock Star is titled Deadline on the copy you sent.

No. Rock Star has never been submitted before and is a totally different story. Any confusion in names is because I have another story in the current batch first titled Deadline (and then changed to Last Chance when I realized the duplication). I was taking a shortcut to save the new batch of stories to different locations and screwed up the process. I thought I had fixed them all, but apparently not. Attached is the story Deadline, which was published by Aphotic Realm. My apologies for the confusion. I promise to stop taking shortcuts!

Glad to hear it! Rock Star is a fantastic work. Your ability to say more with less is impressive. Hemingway would be proud. The theme of never compromising your integrity regardless of consequence is universal and even more relevant these latter days. Nick's realization that compromise is a necessary component of his romantic relationship is a striking example of the often contradictory Zugzwang of existence and a brilliant counterpoint to his professional situation.. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Your first response to me was a very specific notification of being promoted from the Floor to the Terminal. I expected an equally clear notice of promotion from Terminal to Executive Offices and another notice that the Executive had agreed to publish my work. I thought I was still at stage 2 with two more to go. Your process and style here is a little unconventional, so I didn't assume anything.
Perhaps surprisingly, this was the third time I've had acceptances offered on the same day. Alas, there was no money offered.
