Hi,
I am submitting a short work of fiction for your consideration.
Bio:
johnVC lives in Orange County, CA, and works as a technical writer for a commercial laboratory. His work has appeared in Amethyst Review, Euphemism and elsewhere. Besides writing, his outside activities include church music, walking for health, and teaching English as a second language.

(doling out the cap, Rorschalk did something he does from time to time, send an empty file, he may do it just to hear the suckers roar...gives him a cheap thrill. I was hardly roaring though ... it just gave me an opening to have a conversation)
Ah, but you have not sent it.
Seems we're getting more subs of late? Are we to still post our reviews on The Floor? I like how they appear in the Big Board under the cap's title, prolly easier for VC's (and us) to find, too? The Floor could be for more informal discussions re the site, subs, whatever?

And yes. Subs are up. I hope Boligard gets back soon. Been addicting to chess.com (sat for 18 hrs straight New Years Eve lunchtime all the way to 6 in the am of the new year). Which I mention because Dep's unexpected return is like a sweet move you made that you didn't even know you made somehow. You know? Anyhow. You on chess.com?

Never ventured over to chess.com, but I do love the game. Even more than Go now. The only entities I play are engines I've downloaded. Haven't got my hands on Leela 0 yet, so mainly Arena and Stockfish, both way stronger than me. Usually I pit Stockfish as white against Arena until I think I can finish black off, and adjourn. If I fuck up the endgame and Arena regains the advantage I go back and see how I should've done it. The last human I played was some old guy at the library over the board, about a year ago, before we all became afraid of each other.

Love chess, but I'm a ham and egger. Speaking of style, though, the floor is more review disguised at informal discussion or some crazy voodoo shit which Boligard of which Boli is (was?) so brilliant. Seeing as how you came down from the Terminal, which is the antecedent of the US Senate as the Floor is to the often messy and heated machinations of the House of Representative, it is understandable you bring that mentality there (the floor that is). My advice is try some improv, make the critiques organic to the floor show, its natural ebb and flow as you interact with your colleagues in the basement confines that no mortal should really ever dare tread.

Then I'll come in and fill in my response after you so we do the whole meta transparency deal we're up our own ass about, right? Of course, then I'll have to post this text to to show how the snausage is made. It's very f'ing confusing! (and meta) to give the Ah but you have not sent it gmail context go ahead and explain that my initial gmail to you about the cap did not contain an attachment. Right?

I'm a little confused as to what you want re cutting and pasting this correspondence. Feel free to log on as Rocks and move or copy whatever wherever. It looks like Dep wants to use the Floor for conversation, and her reviews into "ventures" where VC's (and we) can easily find them. I may take that approach. I know when I first started subbing to TQR I'd skim through what seemed like reams of Boli's swan vistaing and vomiting and discourse to find tidbits of comments on my cap. In a way it was okay, because it kept it hidden from public interest and search engine's view. Exposing cap in ventures might discourage some, but probably attract more subs. We seem to be in the sweet spot volume-wise right now, unless we go with form rejects. Just thinking out loud.

I forgot your password, man. I am sorry. But, if you don't feel good about sending it over this google monitoring station it's really easy to just copy the individual text of the email and paste it as a REPLY into one of the "SEE YOU NEXT SUNDAY? received" folder. Replying to the initial VC's submission. What I meant about context is that it won't make any sense if you don't add something saying "Rorschalk dropped this one the floor without an attachment, thus no cap, so that is why I, Rockefeller, had to send this reply" or something there about as a foreword to the text you copy and pasted there.
