I am pleased to submit "The Windmill", my gothic tale of 10,000-plus words. It looks like your publication may be the right place for an old-fashioned ghost story with a setting somewhere between modern Sweden and the dim shores of the past.
Though I like to write about the Chicago of my youth, I also often imagine scenes based on my family history. For instance, my cousins in Sweden maintain the old windmill built by my ancestors. It may or may not be haunted....
After a career in construction, I now teach writing at the local community college and write poetry and fiction. My novel The Ghost of Jamie McVay was published last year. I live on the DuPage River with my wife. Our two grown sons live nearby.
