The holiday season is upon and the Bull has shit to do, so he’s keeping this shit short. Kamadhenu knows, this seasonal crap is way too tiring.
The Bullmeister is old enough to remember Michael J. Fox in his youthful role in “The Secret of My Success”. Spoiler! It’s the story of a young graduate who is looking to break into the world of business, arrives in New York only to have his job offer evaporate. So basically, he bullshits his way into a high-paying position. There’s a lot of zaniness and romance, blah blah blah.
“Fair Laid” follows that vein of the kid stumbling into real business, except in this case, the kid is a porn addict and they are working on making porn cruelty-free/fair trade, etc. In his attempt to gain access to a particular porn actress, Jack, the fourteen-year-old main character, devises a plot to start a fake organization to protect porn actors/actresses. Somehow, he convinces Cherry Popps’ production company to negotiate and despite being a child is able to travel by plane to visit and nearly persuades everyone of his legitimacy. Everyone that is, except Cherry. She’s not stupid like the rest of the bastards.
It goes on for a while, winding a tale of whatever.
It’s not bad. The grammar is okay and only needs minor editing.
The cap itself is decent. But it’s a juvenile fantasy put forth by a person using the email and name of two different Harry Harrison characters, so it is what it is. As far as being unpublishable, I was honestly expecting a whole lot more. The hype was just that, unsatisfied promise. Just because something has porn in it, doesn't make it untouchable. I was disappointed by the lack of shock.
I’m going to have to nix this one. Maybe Rocks will be more inclined to give it a yes vote. Honestly, it’s mostly because it didn’t deliver on the “unpublishable” promise. Maybe my expectations are just too high.
