Over 10,000 words? How can a VC expect to hold my fickle attention for over 10,000 words?
Well, exactly like this.
This cap features a mendacious corporate lawyer meeting the pregnant teen whose child he and his spouse wish to adopt. The meeting does not go well. Each of them start with secrets and lies, which are drawn out gradually - each new revelation threatening to shatter the progress made so far. Without moving more than a few metres, the two main characters go through a whole Hero's Journey.
The VC has achieved an impressive feat, to make the stakes feel high, and the pace feel bullish, when hardly anything happens beyond two people talking. Is it perfect? Hell no, it's a hot mess, in the best possible way. The writing is colourful, full of bants and character. There are wonderful turns of phrase and quotable moments. Any rough edges are very easy to forgive - in fact, I am in rank admiration of the VC's craft.
Rockefeller accused the ending of melodrama, but I felt the ending's sentimentality was thoroughly earned - and what's wrong with good melodrama anyway?
Note that some editorial intervention is required, in particular for incorrect spacing around single quotes (and sometimes apostrophes), and inconsistent spacing around hyphens and dashes.
Ça touche la singe. I vote yes.

A big MOO to all you bitches out there.
The Bullmeister is here with tidings of the blistering southern springtime and the anxiety of the impending storm season. Fortunately, the Bulldog doesn’t have any calves to worry about. All he needs to do is wrangle up the avian bastards and hope the barn doesn’t get blown away.
Today’s cap does, however, deal with children or at least the prospect of children and the trials of both wanting one you can’t have and having one you don’t want.
The characters are each wrapped in their own prisons, trying to hide themselves from the outside world. They are relatable and equally tragic and inspiring. The conflict arises from within each protagonist and combines into an awkward culmination of angst and catharsis.
There! Didn’t the Bulldude sound profound?
But there was a complete lack of combat or lasers in this cap. Nor were there any boobies. How can a Bull properly enjoy a cap without these fundamental components?
Okay, fine. It was good. Send it up.
