Okay, the Bull is going to move on from his whining about US tax law and proceed to bitch about being cold.
The Bull lives in a warm client because, well, he hates the freaking cold. So what do people do? They make the insides of buildings goddamn freezers. The office, the market – the Bull is walking around in a fucking parka trying to stay warm.
Now those of you in colder climates may say, “Suck it up bovine, it’s only sixty-eight degrees, you pansy-ass.”
You are 100% correct; I am a climate pansy. But I chose to live in an inferno. So stop bringing ice to it. Enough of the torture, bitches.
And speaking of torture….
We move on to the cap “KILLING MISS POPE”.
This is a memoir of sorts about a man and his hatred for his first-grade teacher. It holds a kind of bizarre sentimentality and paints a tale of a child’s suffering through school. This is all well and good, but not as emotionally convincing as it could have been. Without delving into my own self-pity, I suffered through my own torment with the educational system, and the emotions regarding it are still raw. So reading this cap, it feels somewhat empty. It should have been more visceral.
The formatting was also a bit hard to get through. The VC sent an extensive bio listing pages of writing credits. One would think the VC would use standard manuscript format (https://www.shunn.net/format/story.html). Not that this is a deal breaker, but some double-spacing would be nice.
The ending seemed to want to be a twist, but the setup for it was lacking. Maybe a line here and there stressing how much Miss Pope was not long for this world would have helped.
Overall, this is a no. It needs something. I just don’t know what.
